Senior Accountant Ecommerce & Marketplace Finance

Role Overview We are hiring a

Senior Accountant who will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting, purchase and sales entries, GST compliance, vendor payments, ecommerce marketplace reconciliation, inventory coordination, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge along with practical exposure to online sales channels such as

Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Jiomart, Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Shopify/D2C, and other ecommerce platforms .

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Bookkeeping

Manage daily accounting entries in Tally/Busy/Zoho Books or similar accounting software.

Record purchase, sales, expenses, vendor payments, customer receipts, and bank entries.

Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely closure of monthly accounts.

Handle petty cash, bank reconciliation, and payment follow-ups.

Purchase & Sales Management

Verify purchase invoices, vendor bills, GST details, and supporting documents.

Record and reconcile purchase entries with inventory and inward data.

Track sales across ecommerce platforms, D2C website, and other online channels.

Match sales reports with actual payments received from marketplaces.

Coordinate with operations and warehouse teams for purchase, stock, sales, and return-related data.

Ecommerce Marketplace Accounting

Reconcile marketplace settlements from Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Jiomart, Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Shopify, and other online channels. Track commissions, shipping charges, returns, cancellations, TCS, TDS, advertising deductions, penalties, and marketplace fees. Prepare platform-wise sales, deductions, receivables, and profitability reports.

Identify payment mismatches, pending settlements, and excess marketplace deductions. Coordinate with marketplace/account management teams for reconciliation and dispute resolution. GST, TDS & Compliance

Prepare data for GST filing, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and input tax credit reconciliation.

Reconcile GST as per books, GST portal, and marketplace reports.

Handle TDS/TCS accounting and reconciliation.

Coordinate with CA/consultant for GST, TDS, income tax, and statutory compliance.

Maintain proper documentation for audits and compliance requirements.

Reporting & MIS

Prepare monthly sales reports, purchase reports, expense reports, and payment reports.

Prepare channel-wise profitability reports.

Track outstanding receivables and payables.

Support management with financial MIS and business performance reports.

Help identify cost leakages, excess deductions, and reconciliation gaps.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum

4–7 years of accounting experience , preferably in ecommerce, D2C, FMCG, beauty, personal care, fragrance, or consumer goods.

Strong knowledge of

GST, TDS, TCS, purchase accounting, sales accounting, and bank reconciliation .

Practical experience with ecommerce marketplace settlements is highly preferred.

Good understanding of online channels such as Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, Myntra, Shopify, Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, etc.

Strong working knowledge of

Tally/Busy/Zoho Books and MS Excel/Google Sheets.

Ability to prepare MIS reports and reconcile large data sets.

Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with an ecommerce brand, D2C brand, marketplace seller, or online-first business.

Knowledge of marketplace deductions, returns, settlements, commissions, and advertising deductions.

Experience in inventory-linked accounting will be an added advantage.

Experience in perfume, beauty, personal care, FMCG, or consumer product categories is preferred but not mandatory.
