Senior Accountant

Role & responsibilities

• Team Management
• Handle and supervise a team of 5 to 8 accountants
• Allocate daily work and monitor productivity
• Conduct weekly reviews and performance tracking
• Train and guide team members on accounting standards and tools
• Client Handling
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
• Understand client business processes and ensure smooth execution
• Resolve client queries related to accounting, GST, TDS, etc.
• Accounting Oversight
• Review bookkeeping work done in Zoho Books
• Ensure accuracy in sales, purchase, bank reconciliation, and expense entries
• Maintain proper documentation and audit readiness
• Compliance Management
• Ensure timely filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.)
• Monitor TDS calculations and payments
• Support income tax data preparation and compliance
• Process Improvement
• Implement SOPs for better efficiency
• Identify automation opportunities within Zoho Books
• Maintain quality control standards across all clients
• Reporting & Analysis
• Review dashboards and MIS reports (sales, expenses, profit trends)
• Provide insights to clients for decision-making
• Coordinate with reporting analyst (Excel/Power BI team)

Preferred candidate profile

• 36 years of experience in accounting or CA firm / outsourcing firm
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and basic Income Tax compliance
• Hands-on experience with Zoho Books or any cloud accounting software
• Prior experience in team handling (minimum 23 members)
• Good communication skills (client handling is important)
• Strong review mindset (not just doing accounting, but checking others’ work)
• Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
• Comfortable with deadlines and structured processes
