Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and quality-focused Automation Software Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in manual testing within a Waterfall environment while also possessing knowledge of Agile methodologies. The candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, preparing test artifacts, executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specification Documents (FSD), and user stories to understand application functionality.
• Prepare and review test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and sanity testing.
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects until closure.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers to resolve issues and clarify requirements.
• Participate in requirement review meetings and provide inputs from a testing perspective.
• Prepare and maintain testing documentation, including:
• Test Plan
• Test Cases
• Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM)
• Test Execution Reports
• Test Summary/Test Closure Report
• Ensure complete requirement coverage through RTM.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by assisting business users when required.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring defects and suggest quality improvements.
• Adhere to defined QA processes and standards throughout the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

Manual Testing

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Hands-on experience in manual testing.
• Experience in Functional Testing.
• Experience in Regression Testing.
• Experience in Integration Testing.
• Experience in System Testing.
• Experience in Smoke and Sanity Testing.
• Basic understanding of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Methodologies

• Hands-on experience working in a Waterfall development model.
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Ability to adapt to different software development methodologies.

Test Documentation

• Test Scenario preparation.

Defect Management Tools

• Jira
• Azure DevOps (Boards/Test Plans)

Technical Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of Java.
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript.
• Basic understanding of Selenium (preferred; automation experience is not mandatory).
• Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Basic understanding of APIs and API testing using tools such as Postman (preferred).

• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into test scenarios.

• Willingness to learn new technologies and testing practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• ISTQB Foundation Certification or similar testing certifications. (preferred but not mandatory).

Good to Have

• Exposure to Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Understanding of version control tools such as Git.
• Knowledge of Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech domain (if applicable).
• Familiarity with test management tools integrated with Azure DevOps or Jira.
