Job Description
The QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) Engineer will establish, implement, and monitor the project Quality Management System (QMS) for a GW solar and integrated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This role independently audits the EPC contractor's execution, manages Field Quality Plans (FQP), and oversees rigorous material testing to eliminate non‑conformances before components are energized.
Minimum Experience
Minimum of +5 -10 years of direct QA/QC engineering experience within utility‑scale solar PV power plants or heavy infrastructure projects. At least 2 to 3 years of focused experience managing quality control on large‑scale solar fields (150MW+), with deep exposure to both civil, mechanical, and electrical inspection frameworks. Prior experience working within major Indian solar parks is highly advantageous due to familiarity with large‑scale project quality dynamics.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and monitor ITP/FQP implementation, inspection requests, method statement quality requirements and material acceptance records.
- Conduct quality surveillance for civil, MMS/tracker, module, DC/AC/MV and SCADA/control‑system records within the Electrical Engineer monitored scope, together with test activities based on approved quality controls.
- Register and monitor NCRs, observations, corrective/preventive actions, concession/deviation status and closure evidence.
- Verify calibration certificates, test reports, inspection records and quality dossiers prior to completion recommendations.
- Coordinate hold/witness point status with discipline engineers, EPC quality teams and Client representatives.
- Report quality trends and unresolved risks affecting commissioning or HOTO.
- Administer site quality surveillance and verify the evidence trail required to accept completed Solar works and progress to subsequent stages. Owns quality‑process validation and NCR governance at package level; discipline engineers provide technical observations and EPC creates records/corrects work.
Principal Client‑Facing Outputs
- Quality surveillance report and NCR/CAPA register.
- ITP/inspection/test‑record status.
- Solar quality dossier readiness statement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution. Certified Welding Inspector (AWS/CSWIP) or NDT Level II certifications (UT, PT, MT) are highly preferred for structural and piling inspections. Formal training or certification in ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems) is highly desirable.
