Job Title: QA Automation Engineer (Robot Framework)

Location: Bangalore

Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days/week from office)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Robot Framework and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate should have hands-on automation experience, strong debugging skills, and the ability to independently own testing activities for assigned modules. Candidates from the BFSI/Financial Services domain will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Robot Framework.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and automation testing.
• Independently troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues.
• Analyze production issues and collaborate with development teams for root cause analysis.
• Validate application functionality using SQL queries and Unix/Linux commands.
• Participate in test planning, test case creation, execution, and defect tracking.
• Own QA activities for assigned modules/features and ensure timely delivery.
• Mentor junior QA engineers whenever required.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Required SkillsPrimary Skills (Priority Order)

• Troubleshooting (Highest Priority ~40%)
• Strong hands-on debugging and analytical skills.
• Ability to independently identify, investigate, and resolve application issues.
• Experience handling production incidents and root cause analysis.
• Robot Framework Automation (Must Have ~20%)
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Robot Framework.
• Experience creating, maintaining, and executing automation test scripts.
• Good understanding of automation frameworks and best practices.
• Unix/Linux
• Basic hands-on experience with Linux/Unix.
• Comfortable using shell commands, log analysis, and file navigation.
• SQL
• Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge.
• Ability to write queries, joins, and perform data validation.
• Python (Valuable to Have)
• Basic understanding of Python.
• Ability to read or make minor updates to automation scripts is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) domain.
• Experience owning end-to-end QA activities for a module or feature.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
