About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior AI / Microservices Engineer to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade backend services and AI-enabled application components for a modern cloud-native platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in microservices architecture, backend engineering, cloud technologies, APIs, event-driven systems, and AI/LLM integrations. This role offers the opportunity to work on next-generation AI-powered enterprise applications involving orchestration workflows, retrieval systems, recommendation engines, decision-support platforms, and scalable cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable enterprise-grade backend services and microservices.
• Build APIs, integration layers, workflow engines, and reusable service components.
• Develop services for orchestration, recommendation engines, classification, summarization, search, and decision-support workflows.
• Integrate AI/LLM services to support prompt-based processing, structured outputs, reasoning workflows, and recommendation generation.
• Implement RAG-based workflows leveraging embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, and knowledge retrieval systems.
• Design and manage service contracts, JSON schemas, data models, audit logs, and persistence layers.
• Develop event-driven processing systems using messaging platforms, workflow engines, and queue-based architectures.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on containerized deployments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and environment management.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, traceable, maintainable, and production-ready.
• Troubleshoot application performance, production issues, integration challenges, and system bottlenecks.
• Support QA, validation teams, business stakeholders, and release management activities.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of enterprise software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of backend platform and microservices development experience.
• Strong expertise in backend development using Java/Spring Boot, Python/FastAPI, Node.js, .NET, or similar frameworks.
• Deep understanding of Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, JSON, service contracts, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
• Experience implementing event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of logging, monitoring, retry mechanisms, performance optimization, and production support.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, or Llama models.
• Understanding of Prompt Engineering, Structured Outputs, Confidence Scoring, and Response Validation.
• Experience with RAG architectures, Embeddings, Vector Databases, Semantic Search, and Knowledge Retrieval.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar AI orchestration frameworks.
• Exposure to OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, pgvector, or related search platforms.
• Experience building AI Agents, Recommendation Engines, Decision-Support Systems, or Intelligent Automation Platforms.
• Experience working within regulated industries such as Healthcare, Pharma, Medical Devices, Insurance, Banking, or Compliance-heavy environments.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, Aurora, S3, OpenSearch, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, and Step Functions.
• Knowledge of audit trails, validation frameworks, enterprise governance, and controlled release processes.
