Property Accounting Manager

The Property Accounting Manager supports the Controller in their respective subregion by overseeing reporting and monthly close process reviews. This role reviews monthly variances and supporting workpapers, ensures deadlines are met accurately and on time, and is accountable for the completeness and accuracy of assigned properties and related month-end deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the expense scrub process.
• Supervise and train offshore consultants.
• Handle prior-owner general ledger (GL) account mapping for acquisitions.
• Maintain and roll forward PM reclass sheet updates.
• Perform monthly completeness checks.
• Prepare and post PM accruals; coordinate related communications.
• Process alter worksheet requests.
• Ensure mid-month move-out recovery updates are completed.
• Review monthly workpapers.
• Review acquisition- and disposition-related entries, as needed.
• Ensure monthly tasks and property assignments are completed accurately and on time.
• Support ad hoc projects, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• BA/BS required; Accounting degree preferred.
• CPA/MBA preferred.
• 8+ years’ experience working in real estate or with real estate related companies.
• Public Accounting experience a plus.
• Detail oriented, analytical, strong organizational skills, proven ability to meet deadlines, works well under pressure and possess the ability to manage people and time efficiently and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel Skills.
