Project Finance Analyst - Consulting Services (India)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Project Finance Analyst to support financial governance across our consulting engagements.

This role will focus on project costing, margin tracking, forecasting support, and financial reporting. You will work closely with Project Managers, Delivery Leadership, Operations, and Corporate Finance to ensure financial visibility, cost discipline, and accuracy in project reporting.

This is an execution-focused role with strong growth potential into a senior Project Controller position.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Budget & Cost Tracking
• Maintain detailedproject budgets in standardized templates
• Track actual costs vsapproved budgets
• Monitor labor costallocation (India/US teams)
• Validate timesheet dataand billable effort
• Ensure correct mappingof subcontractor and expense costs
• Margin & Utilization Monitoring
• Track:
• Gross margin %
• Contribution margin
• Billable utilization
• Realization rates
• Identify budgetvariances and flag to leadership
• Support burn-ratetracking and financial health indicators
• Revenue & Forecasting Support
• Support revenueforecasting (monthly/quarterly)
• Assist withpercentage-of-completion tracking
• Maintain backlog andpipeline financial trackers
• Update rolling financialprojections
• Reporting & Dashboarding
• Prepare standardizedmonthly project financial dashboards
• Provide varianceanalysis (Actual vs Budget vs Forecast)
• Maintain centralizedproject financial repository
• Ensure reportingaccuracy and timeliness
• Process Discipline & Governance
• Ensure financialtemplates are followed across all projects
• Track recurringfinancial reporting tasks
• Improve data accuracy infinancial tracking systems
• Support continuousimprovement in project costing processes

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in:
• Project finance
• FP&A
• Financial analysis inIT services / consulting preferred
• Strong Excel skills(advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling)
• Strong numericalaccuracy and attention to detail
• Basic understanding ofconsulting metrics (utilization, margins)
• Ability to workindependently with structured guidance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ITconsulting / SAP services organization
• Understanding of revenuerecognition concepts (POC method)
• Exposure to resourceplanning and cost allocation
