Principal Cybersecurity Analyst Operational Technology (OT)

Principal Cyber Info Assurance Analyst

At Medtronic you will develop, implement, and manage IT security measures that protect the organization’s manufacturing and distribution environments. This role requires expertise in both IT and OT security principles and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure protection of manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive OT security strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Lead OT security champions, providing direction, mentorship, and professional development.
• Collaborate with senior management to integrate OT security into overall business strategies.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analysis for the OT environment and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Establish and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards specific to OT systems.
• Design and implement secure OT network architectures, ensuring segmentation and protection of critical assets.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies and solutions for OT environments.
• Maintain and lead OT incident response plans, coordinating response, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines related to OT security (e.g., NIST, NERC CIP).
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Communicate OT security risks, strategies, and initiatives to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Develop and deliver OT security awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Manage the OT security budget, procurement of security tools, and vendor relationships.

Required Knowledge & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 13+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• Strong understanding of OT security frameworks, standards, and regulations.
• Experience developing and implementing OT security strategies and programs.
• Experience with industrial control systems (ICS) and other OT environments.
• Leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of risk management methodologies and tools.
• Certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, GICSP or equivalent are preferred.
