Platform as a service (PaaS)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform as a Service (PaaS) Engineer with a strong foundation in software engineering, Linux infrastructure, Kubernetes, and production operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience building, operating, and troubleshooting production-grade platforms while working across both infrastructure and application layers.

This role requires engineers who can take ownership of platform reliability, scalability, and automation in complex production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Platform as a Service (PaaS) infrastructure.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
• Administer and optimize Linux-based systems, including bare metal and on-premise infrastructure.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve critical production issues while ensuring high platform availability.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for production systems.
• Develop production-grade software, platform services, and automation tools using modern programming languages.
• Build reliable platform components, APIs, and infrastructure tooling to improve developer productivity.
• Collaborate with software engineering, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to enhance platform reliability and performance.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and resource utilization.
• Implement automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows.
• Contribute to platform architecture, security, observability, and operational best practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across platform engineering and site reliability functions.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and system internals.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, networking, storage, and hardware.
• Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
• Strong production troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to design, develop, test, and maintain production-grade software.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience deploying, managing, upgrading, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong understanding of container orchestration, networking, storage, and security within Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at infrastructure-focused startups, cloud-native organizations, or high-frequency trading (HFT) firms.
• Experience owning end-to-end platform engineering responsibilities.
• Background in highly technical environments where engineers work across infrastructure and software stacks.
• Experience with platform reliability, automation, observability, and distributed systems.
