Mobile App Developer — React Native / TypeScript -Part Time

NexBrix is building software that helps hospitality businesses manage their staff and day-to-day operations. Our web app and PWA are already in use, and we’re progressing with a trial customer. We’re now ready to build a dedicated mobile app, starting with iOS.

We’re looking for a developer who can work four hours a day, Monday to Friday, take ownership of the mobile app, and work closely with our existing developer, designer and architect.

What you’ll do

• Build the iOS app from our designs, using our existing APIs and product workflows.
• Implement features such as timesheets, staff availability and other operational tools.
• Handle authentication, app state, errors, and mobile interactions with care.
• Test your work, prepare builds, and resolve issues identified during review.
• Keep the code clear and maintainable as the product changes. Android development will follow once the iOS app is stable.

What we’re looking for

• Practical experience with React Native and TypeScript, including iOS development and releases.
• Confidence integrating REST APIs and handling authentication securely.
• Someone who understands and can explain their code, including code written with AI assistance.
• Reliable availability for four focused hours each weekday, with daily timesheets and regular communication.
• Willingness to take responsibility for a feature from implementation through testing and review.

Our current product uses Next.js, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL. We want the mobile app to work with this existing system and plan to use React Native with TypeScript for the shared iOS and Android codebase. Our architect will review the implementation.

The selection process includes a technical assessment estimated at 3–6 hours and a paid one-week trial. Please read the assessment brief before applying. If you’re unable to commit the time needed to complete the assessment, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.
