Our technology portfolio includes cloud-native applications, distributed systems, AI-powered platforms, real-time video analytics and Sciatra—our SCADA, camera integration and AI-based monitoring solution. We are also developing AI camera-based solutions for intelligent monitoring, computer vision, analytics and alerts.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer with 3–6 years of hands-on experience in AWS, CI/CD, Docker, Linux administration, networking, infrastructure automation and production support.

You will support DevOps requirements across SolutionChamps’ client service engagements and internal product-development initiatives. You will collaborate with Architects, Technical Delivery Managers, Technical Leads, developers, QA engineers and AI/ML teams to build secure, automated, scalable and reliable environments.

The role covers infrastructure provisioning, deployment automation, environment management, monitoring, security, release support, troubleshooting and operational documentation across multiple applications and technology stacks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, provision and maintain secure, scalable and highly available AWS infrastructure.
  • Set up and manage development, testing, staging, UAT and production environments.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
  • Automate build, testing, deployment, environment promotion and rollback processes.
  • Implement appropriate deployment strategies, including rolling, blue-green and canary deployments.
  • Containerise applications using Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Optimise container images and manage container registries such as Amazon ECR.
  • Deploy and support web applications, APIs, microservices, background services and AI workloads.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Configure and manage EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, ECR, Route 53, ALB/NLB, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager and Systems Manager Parameter Store.
  • Configure Nginx, DNS, SSL/TLS certificates, reverse proxies, load balancers, VPN connectivity and network-security controls.
  • Implement infrastructure security, least-privilege access, secrets management and secure configuration practices.
  • Establish application, infrastructure and deployment monitoring, logging and alerting.
  • Support backup, restore, disaster-recovery and high-availability requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure, networking, containers, deployments, performance and availability.
  • Participate in production incident response, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Work with development and QA teams to improve deployment reliability, application performance and operational readiness.
  • Integrate code-quality and security checks into CI/CD pipelines where required.
  • Monitor cloud-resource utilisation and recommend performance and cost optimisations.
  • Coordinate with client IT, cloud and infrastructure teams for client-managed environments.
  • Develop reusable pipeline templates and standard DevOps practices across projects.
  • Maintain infrastructure diagrams, environment inventories, deployment guides, access records and operational runbooks.

Required Technical Skills - AWS Cloud

Strong hands-on experience with

  • EC2, VPC, IAM and S3
  • ECR and Route 53
  • Application Load Balancer and Network Load Balancer
  • Auto Scaling
  • CloudWatch
  • AWS Secrets Manager
  • Systems Manager Parameter Store
  • Basic working knowledge of CloudFormation or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools

CI/CD and Version Control

  • GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins
  • Build and deployment automation
  • Release management and environment promotion
  • Rollback, blue-green and canary deployment strategies
  • Git, GitHub or GitLab
  • Branching strategies, pull requests, merge-conflict resolution and Git tagging

Containers

  • Docker and Docker Compose
  • Multi-stage Docker builds
  • Container-image optimisation
  • Container networking and volumes
  • Container registries
  • Docker security best practices

Infrastructure Automation

Hands-on experience with one or more of

  • Ansible playbooks, roles and inventory management
  • Terraform
  • AWS CloudFormation
  • Secure handling of infrastructure credentials and secrets

Linux Administration

Strong working knowledge of

  • Ubuntu, CentOS or equivalent Linux distributions
  • Process and service management
  • Systemd and cron
  • Package, storage and log management
  • SSH
  • User, group and permission management
  • Shell scripting

Networking and Security

Strong understanding of

  • TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS and SSL/TLS
  • CIDR, routing, NAT and VPN concepts
  • Reverse proxies and load balancing
  • Firewalls, security groups and network ACLs
  • Port management and network troubleshooting
  • SSL/TLS certificate installation and renewal
  • Certificate chains, CSR generation, Let’s Encrypt and AWS Certificate Manager
  • Infrastructure security and least-privilege access

Web Servers

Experience configuring

  • Nginx
  • Apache at a basic working level
  • Reverse proxy
  • SSL termination
  • Load balancing
  • Static-content hosting

Monitoring and Logging

Experience with AWS CloudWatch and one or more of

  • Prometheus and Grafana
  • ELK or OpenSearch
  • Loki
  • OpenTelemetry

Good understanding of metrics, alerts, log aggregation, performance monitoring and infrastructure monitoring.

Scripting and Configuration

  • Bash scripting
  • Basic Python scripting
  • YAML and JSON

Preferred Skills

Experience or exposure in any of the following will be advantageous

Experience and Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure or production engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting production workloads on AWS.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deploying containerised applications.
  • Experience working with microservices or distributed application environments.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects, applications or customer environments.
  • Exposure to high-availability or high-traffic production systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
