Role Description

This is a remote, contract MERN Stack Intern role focused on supporting AI-driven web application development. Day-to-day tasks include assisting in building and maintaining web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js, implementing RESTful APIs, and integrating front-end interfaces with back-end services. The intern will collaborate with senior developers and AI engineers to connect web applications with AI models, participate in code reviews, and help troubleshoot and fix bugs. Responsibilities also include writing clean, documented code, contributing to basic UI/UX improvements, and following best practices for performance, security, and scalability. The intern will be expected to learn quickly, take feedback constructively, and communicate progress regularly with the distributed team.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess core MERN skills, including basic experience with MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js.
• Candidates should possess front-end development skills such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and familiarity with responsive design and component-based architecture.
• Candidates should possess back-end and API skills, including RESTful API development, JSON handling, and integration with databases.
• Candidates should possess software development fundamentals such as version control (Git), debugging, testing basics, and understanding of secure coding practices.
• Candidates should possess problem-solving and collaboration skills, including the ability to read documentation, learn new tools quickly, and work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
• Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) is beneficial.
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts, cloud or edge deployment, or interest in building AI-enabled applications is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to manage time and tasks in a remote setup are expected.
