Job Purpose

The

Manager – Mobile Development

is responsible for leading the design, development, delivery, security, deployment, and support of enterprise-scale mobile applications across both

iOS and Android platforms

. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise in native mobile development, modern mobile architecture, cloud-native integrations, secure application development, enterprise mobile device management, and mobile DevOps practices.

The manager will lead a team of mobile developers, own multiple mobile applications, drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, manage delivery commitments, and partner closely with Product, Design, QA, Security, Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure, Enterprise Mobility, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead and manage a team of mobile developers responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
• Own the delivery, quality, stability, security, and production support of multiple mobile applications, ensuring they meet business, user experience, performance, and enterprise technology standards.
• Provide strong technical leadership in native mobile development, including iOS, Android, mobile architecture, design patterns, reusable components, coding standards, testing practices, and performance optimization.
• Partner with Product Owners, UX/UI, QA, Security, Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure, Enterprise Mobility, and business stakeholders to plan and deliver mobile solutions aligned with product roadmaps and business priorities.
• Drive end-to-end mobile application delivery, including requirement analysis, solution design, sprint planning, development oversight, testing, deployment, release coordination, and post-production support.
• Ensure mobile applications are built using secure, scalable, and maintainable architecture, including API integrations, cloud-native services, authentication, observability, analytics, caching, and offline capabilities where applicable.
• Lead mobile release and deployment strategies across App Store, Google Play, private app stores, enterprise distribution channels, and MDM/EMM platforms.
• Support enterprise-wide rollout of mobile applications across managed devices, unmanaged devices, and BYOD environments, ensuring smooth deployment, compatibility, compliance, and user adoption.
• Provide oversight for Mobile Device Management and Mobile Application Management practices, including app configuration, app protection policies, device compliance, profile creation, certificate management, provisioning, and managed app deployment.
• Guide secure mobile access patterns such as App VPN tunneling, per-app VPN, conditional access, SSO, certificate-based authentication, secure network routing, and data protection controls.
• Ensure mobile applications follow enterprise security best practices, including encryption, secure storage, secure API communication, OAuth/OIDC, certificate pinning, session management, data leakage prevention, and privacy-aware design.
• Drive DevOps and engineering excellence through CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, feature flags, staged rollouts, crash monitoring, performance monitoring, and release quality metrics.
• Manage application support activities by ensuring incidents, defects, service requests, deployment issues, and device compatibility issues are prioritized, assigned, and resolved within agreed service levels.
• Evaluate new mobile technologies, frameworks, SDKs, MDM/MAM capabilities, AI/ML services, and generative AI opportunities that can improve user experience, productivity, automation, or application intelligence.
• Mentor and coach mobile developers, support career development, conduct performance reviews, manage resource planning, remove delivery roadblocks, and promote a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture.

• 12–18 years of overall software engineering experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on mobile application development experience.

• 3+ years of people management experience leading developers or mobile engineering tea
