Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Linux Infrastructure Engineer (2–3 years) to help deploy, tune and maintain our high-frequency trading (HFT) infrastructure. You will work with senior engineers and trading desks on bare-metal Linux servers co-located at Indian exchanges (NSE, BSE, MCX, IndiaINX), and also maintain our Windows/Microsoft Server environment.

Principal Responsibilities

• Tune and maintain bare-metal Linux servers for consistent, low-latency performance.
• Optimise systems at the hardware and BIOS level for speed and stability.
• Support co-located infrastructure at major Indian exchanges — provisioning, monitoring and daily readiness checks.
• Ensure accurate time synchronisation and reliable start-of-day and end-of-day operations.
• Maintain our Windows/Microsoft Server environment, including Active Directory, patching and endpoint security.
• Work with our Network Engineer to test and validate performance improvements.
• Provide support for trading and back-office applications, and lead root-cause analysis on infrastructure issues.

Job Requirements

• 2–3 years of hands-on Linux administration (RHEL, Rocky or Ubuntu).
• Interest in performance tuning and low-latency environments.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server administration and patch management.
• Comfort with scripting and automation (Bash; Python or Ansible a plus).
• Familiarity with Indian financial exchanges or trading platforms is a strong plus.
• A methodical, ownership-driven approach and willingness to work on-site with trading operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a broking, trading, HFT, algo, or financial services technology environment.
• Exposure to trading terminals, algo platforms, exchange connectivity, vendor licensing, Linux/SQL support, or server/application support.
• Ability to work independently in a regulated, time-sensitive business environment.
