Role: Lead Engineer - Azure Data

Location: India, Remote

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer with a strong software development background who has successfully designed, automated and managed enterprise-scale Azure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience deploying and managing production workloads in Microsoft Azure, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), building CI/CD pipelines and administering Kubernetes (AKS).

This is not a traditional infrastructure support or system administrator role. We are specifically looking for engineers who have evolved from a software development background into DevOps and can write production-quality automation and infrastructure code.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and manage Azure cloud infrastructure for production environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep or ARM Templates.
• Deploy and maintain highly available applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Design secure Azure networking architectures including:
• Private Link
• Private Endpoints
• Private DNS Zones
• Virtual Networks
• NSGs
• Load Balancers
• Application Gateway
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar DevOps platforms.
• Automate deployments, monitoring, scaling and infrastructure provisioning.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to improve deployment strategies.
• Develop automation scripts and tooling using Python or another modern programming language.
• Implement cloud security best practices across Azure environments.
• Troubleshoot production deployment and infrastructure issues.

Required experience

• 8+ years overall IT experience.
• 4+ years working on Microsoft Azure.
• 3+ years managing AKS production environments.
• Experience deploying applications into production Azure environments.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong scripting and automation skills.

Must have skills

Azure Cloud (Must Have)

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience managing enterprise Azure subscriptions.
• Hands-on production deployment experience within Azure.
• Experience designing scalable and secure Azure infrastructure.
• Good understanding of Azure governance and networking.

Infrastructure as Code (Must Have)

Candidates should have hands-on experience with

• Bicep (Preferred)
• ARM Templates

Should have

• Created reusable infrastructure templates
• Automated Azure resource deployments
• Managed infrastructure through code

Azure Networking (Must Have)

Strong understanding of Azure networking including

• Virtual Networks (VNet)
• Subnets
• Network Security Groups
• Azure Firewall
• Load Balancer
• Application Gateway
• Private Link
• Private Endpoints
• Private DNS Zones
• Routing
• Hybrid Connectivity

Candidates should be comfortable explaining networking architecture used in production.

Candidate must have coding experience.
