About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer Snowflake to design, develop, and optimize scalable cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Snowflake, data warehousing, ETL/ELT development, and cloud technologies. This role requires technical leadership, hands-on development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to build high-performance data solutions that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale data warehouse solutions using Snowflake.
• Architect and optimize data pipelines, data models, and data integration frameworks.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using modern data engineering tools and best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, analysts, and application teams to understand data requirements.
• Drive performance tuning, query optimization, and cost management within Snowflake environments.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance standards across data platforms.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting engineering excellence and best practices.
• Conduct code reviews, technical design reviews, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Support production deployments, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of critical issues.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the data ecosystem.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7–12 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Analytics Engineering.
• At least 4+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and database design.
• Experience in designing and building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, Matillion, Fivetran, DBT, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake features including:
• Snowpipe
• Streams & Tasks
• Time Travel
• Zero-Copy Cloning
• Data Sharing
• Virtual Warehouses
• Performance Tuning & Optimization
• Experience with Python, Shell Scripting, or similar programming languages.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and version control tools such as Git.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Snowflake Certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced Certifications).
• Experience with Data Lake architectures and modern cloud-native data platforms.
• Exposure to orchestration tools such as Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Understanding of data governance, security, and regulatory compliance requirements.
