Position Overview

This is a senior client-facing leadership role responsible for managing client portfolios, leading accounting teams, ensuring quality, mentoring team members, and driving operational excellence.

The ideal candidate should be capable of independently handling U.S. clients, leading a team, reviewing work, solving complex accounting problems, and continuously improving accounting processes.

This position serves as the leadership pipeline for future Accounting Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Client Portfolio Management

Own multiple U.S. client engagements.

Responsibilities include

  • Client onboarding
  • Monthly review meetings
  • Financial advisory
  • Month-end reviews
  • CPA coordination
  • Managing deadlines
  • Escalation handling
  • Building long-term client relationships

Technical Leadership

Review and approve

  • Bookkeeping
  • Journal Entries
  • Reconciliations
  • Financial Statements
  • Month-end Close
  • Year-end Close
  • Supporting Schedules

Ensure compliance with

  • U.S. GAAP
  • Client SOPs
  • Internal quality standards

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of Accountants and Senior Associates.

Responsibilities include

  • Performance feedback

Quality Assurance

  • Review client deliverables.
  • Identify process gaps.
  • Implement quality controls.
  • Reduce review comments.
  • Improve turnaround time.
  • Standardize documentation.

Client Communication

Mandatory responsibilities include

  • Conduct Zoom meetings independently.
  • Present financial reports.
  • Discuss accounting issues.
  • Recommend process improvements.
  • Coordinate with CPAs.
  • Handle difficult conversations professionally.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships.

Excellent spoken English is mandatory.

Operational Excellence

  • Improve SOPs.
  • Automate repetitive processes.
  • Enhance productivity.
  • Improve turnaround times.
  • Support technology adoption.
  • Develop internal best practices.

People Development

  • Mentor junior accountants.
  • Train new hires.
  • Conduct technical sessions.

  • Recommend promotions.
  • Support recruitment interviews when required.

Required Qualifications

  • B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter / CMA Inter or equivalent
  • 5–12 years of U.S. Accounting experience
  • Strong experience managing U.S. client portfolios
  • Experience reviewing accounting work
  • Experience mentoring teams
