We are looking for a motivated and proactive Junior DevOps Engineer to support and enhance our cloud-native infrastructure and DevOps practices. This role involves working with modern cloud platforms, containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of applications.

The ideal candidate should be hands-on, eager to learn, collaborative, and passionate about automation, cloud technologies, and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in building, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and containerized applications.
• Work with AWS services (Fargate, ECS, DynamoDB, SNS, etc.) for managing distributed systems.
• Monitor system performance using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Splunk, and respond to alerts.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
• Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, networking, containers, and applications.
• Assist in configuring and managing Kubernetes clusters, including deployments, services, and ingress.
• Work on networking components such as load balancers, API gateways, reverse proxies, and service communication.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and postmortems.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripts and tools to improve efficiency.
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure, deployments, and troubleshooting processes.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system reliability and deployment workflows.
• Participate in on-call or shift rotations to ensure system availability.

Preferred Skills

Cloud Platforms and Services

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, SNS.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of GCP services such as GKE, GAR, CloudSQL, Cloud Run.
• Understanding of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning concepts (Terraform/CloudFormation is a plus).

Monitoring and Logging Tools

• Knowledge of CloudWatch Logs, Loki, Splunk for log analysis.
• Familiarity with Prometheus and Grafana for metrics monitoring and dashboarding.
• Understanding of alerting systems (Alertmanager) and incident response workflows.
• Ability to analyze logs and metrics to identify system issues.

Networking and Security

• Strong understanding of load balancers (e.g., ALB, NLB) for distributing traffic and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
• Knowledge in API Gateways like AWS API Gateway or NGINX for managing API traffic.
• Knowledge of reverse proxies and ingress controllers (e.g., NGINX Ingress, Traefik) for managing internal/external traffic.
• Understanding service-to-service communications, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and gRPC protocols.
• Experience or hands-on knowledge with firewalls, security groups, and IAM roles for secure communications.
• Troubleshooting skills for VM-related issues in platforms like AWS EC2 or equivalent.

DevOps Toolchains

• Proficiency with Docker for managing container images and runtime debugging.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts of managing deployments, ingress setups, and pod-related issues and related troubleshooting commands and mechanisms.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline building tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD for building, deploying, and managing automated pipelines.
• Understanding of Ingress controllers (e.g., NGINX, Traefik) and SSL termination for secure routing.

Troubleshooting and Incident Management

• Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes using logs, metrics, and system-level debugging.
• Ability to document detailed troubleshooting steps and solutions for recurring issues.

Collaboration and Communication

• Ability working with cross-functional teams (DevOps, development, and operations) to resolve incidents.
• Skills in effective and proactive communication to escalate issues and provide updates during shift handovers.
• Proficiency with tools like Slack, JIRA, Confluence, or Google Workspace for collaboration and issue tracking.
