Overview

ROLE AT A GLANCE

The Cybersecurity Analyst supports the cybersecurity Team function by improving the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of security operations through automation and structured operational support. This role is designed for an early-career cybersecurity professional with a strong foundation in software development or scripting, combined with basic cybersecurity knowledge.The position focuses primarily on identifying manual, repetitive, and operationally heavy security tasks and helping transform them into streamlined, automated, and repeatable processes. In addition, the role supports day-to-day activities across application security, vulnerability handling, and controlled security testing support.This role is best suited for someone who is technically curious, organized, hands-on, and able to work across both security and development-oriented tasks.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Identify repetitive or manual cybersecurity tasks and help automate them using scripts, workflows, integrations, dashboards, or lightweight tools.
  • Support day-to-day application security and vulnerability operations, including triage, validation, tracking, and follow-up of security findings.
  • Assist in reviewing security tool outputs and operational data to help improve accuracy, reduce false positives, and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Support remediation validation activities by confirming fixes, tracking evidence, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders where needed.
  • Contribute to security assessment support activities, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing support, and controlled red team support tasks under guidance.
  • Help maintain and improve operational documentation, runbooks, workflow instructions, and repeatable security processes.
  • Support reporting and metrics preparation for cybersecurity operational activities, helping improve visibility into findings, remediation status, and process effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively with cybersecurity team members, developers, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to support secure and efficient execution of day-to-day activities and to support the development of automation tools that increase operational efficiency, improve security automated implementations and / or automate compliance monitoring.
  • Continue developing foundational knowledge in application security, vulnerability management, offensive security concepts, and automation practices.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

TEAM DYNAMICS

  • Will work with the Cybersecurity team ww in a collaborative technical environment.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline is required or 6 months to 3 years of equivalent working experience.

Experience

  • 6 months to 2 years years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, application security, software development, scripting, vulnerability management, or related technical work.
  • Internship, academic project, lab work, or practical experience in cybersecurity tools, scripting, or automation is desirable.
  • Exposure to secure development practices, vulnerability management, or security testing concepts is preferred.
  • Exposure to application security or penetration testing activities is an advantage, but deep hands-on offensive experience is not required for this role.

Skills/Certifications

  • Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, including common vulnerabilities, threat concepts, and secure handling of technical data.
  • Ability to write or maintain scripts, simple automation, or tooling using languages such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java, or C#.
  • Basic familiarity with application security concepts such as secure SDLC, OWASP Top 10, vulnerability triage, and remediation tracking.
  • Ability to analyse technical findings, organize information clearly, and support structured operational follow-through.
  • Good communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across both technical and non-technical stakeholders
