Role Description This is a full-time Junior Accountant role based in the Dankuni Area Hooghly, with a on-site work arrangement that allows some work from home. The Junior Accountant will assist with day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and supporting month-end closing. Responsibilities include preparing and reconciling invoices, monitoring accounts payable and receivable, assisting with bank reconciliations, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, helping ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements, and coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders as needed. The Junior Accountant will report to senior finance staff and may support ad hoc analysis or projects to improve financial processes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in basic accounting principles (journal entries, ledgers, reconciliations, financial statements).
- Proficiency with Tally Prime and MS Excel, including spreadsheets, formulas, and data entry.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in numerical work, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant educational background, such as a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Understanding of local taxation and compliance requirements in India is an advantage.
- Prior internship or entry-level experience in accounting or finance is preferred but not mandatory.
