Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced RPG/400 Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support business applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in RPG/400, RPGLE, CL, DB2/400, and application support, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using RPG/400, RPGLE, and Free Format RPG.
• Develop and maintain CL/CLLE programs.
• Analyze business requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Work with DB2/400 databases, SQL, physical files, and logical files.
• Debug production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Enhance and modernize legacy RPG/400 applications.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and end users.
• Support application deployments, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with IBM i (AS/400) platform.
• Proficiency in RPG/400, RPG III/IV, RPGLE, and Free Format RPG.
• Hands-on experience with CL/CLLE programming.
• Strong knowledge of DB2/400 and embedded SQL.
• Experience with Query/400, DDS, and file management.
• Knowledge of application debugging and performance tuning.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SQLRPGLE.
• Knowledge of web services (REST/SOAP), IBM MQ, and API integration.
• Familiarity with application modernization projects.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Typically 5 – 8 years of experience in RPG/400/AS400 application development and support.
