Hiring DevOps Engineer in Bengaluru
iSteer Technologies Private Limited
Job Description & Responsibilities
iSteer Technologies Private Limited is a fast-growing technology consulting and solutions company headquartered in Bengaluru, with a strong presence across India and global delivery centers. We specialize in cloud transformation, DevOps enablement, data engineering, and enterprise application modernization for clients in BFSI, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail sectors. Our engineering culture emphasizes automation, observability, and infrastructure-as-code principles, enabling clients to accelerate software delivery while maintaining security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
We are currently expanding our DevOps practice to support a growing portfolio of cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure projects. This role is for a DevOps Engineer who will work closely with development, security, and platform teams to design, implement, and operate scalable CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration platforms, and cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure. You will be part of a cross-functional squad responsible for enabling developer self-service, improving deployment frequency, and reducing mean time to recovery (MTTR) across multiple client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps, integrating automated testing, security scanning (SAST/DAST), and progressive deployment strategies (blue-green, canary).
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudFormation) and Azure (AKS, App Services, Key Vault, ARM/Bicep) using Terraform and Ansible, ensuring drift detection and policy enforcement via OPA/Gatekeeper.
- Operate and optimize Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS, self-managed) with Helm charts, Kustomize, and ArgoCD for GitOps-driven deployments, implementing namespace isolation, network policies, and resource quotas.
- Implement comprehensive observability stacks using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Tempo; define SLIs/SLOs for critical services and configure alerting with Alertmanager and PagerDuty integration.
- Automate secrets management and certificate rotation using HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or Azure Key Vault, integrated with CI/CD and runtime environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications, optimize Docker images (multi-stage builds, distroless), and enforce image signing and vulnerability scanning with Trivy or Syft.
- Drive infrastructure cost optimization through rightsizing, spot instance strategies, and FinOps practices using tools like Kubecost, AWS Cost Explorer, and custom tagging policies.
- Establish and enforce security baselines (CIS benchmarks, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001) across cloud accounts and clusters using automated compliance scanning (kube-bench, Checkov, Prowler).
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct internal knowledge-sharing sessions, and contribute to the company's DevOps center of excellence with reusable modules, runbooks, and best-practice guides.
- Participate in on-call rotation (follow-the-sun model) for production incidents, conduct blameless postmortems, and drive actionable improvements to prevent recurrence.
Work Environment & Culture
At iSteer, we operate with a "you build it, you run it" philosophy. Our DevOps engineers are embedded in product-aligned squads, not siloed in a separate operations team. We value transparency, blameless retrospectives, and continuous learning. The Bengaluru office (Koramangala) offers a collaborative workspace with quiet zones, but we support hybrid flexibility (3 days onsite, 2 remote). Regular tech talks, hackathons, and certification sponsorships (CKA, AWS/Azure DevOps, Terraform Associate) are part of our growth framework.
Candidate Requirements
- 36 years of hands-on DevOps/Platform Engineering experience in production environments.
- Proven track record of designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for microservices architectures.
- Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred) and Kubernetes operations.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash; experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform mandatory).
- Solid understanding of networking (VPC, CNI, service mesh), Linux internals, and Git workflows (trunk-based development).
- Experience with security tooling integration (SAST/DAST/SCA) and compliance automation.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder alignment and technical documentation.
