As an Application Engineer, you will design, develop, and test applications that meet the needs of Google's internal customers across a variety of projects and business processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging UI and functional specifications to deliver innovative solutions.

Web Design & Development

Key Responsibilities Include

• Implement software products across the full development lifecycle (design, build, test) for internal applications supporting financial planning and analysis business processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to solve complex business and technical problems
• Partner with internal business teams to develop system and delivery roadmaps, delivering with repeatable quality and predictability
• Set technical direction and priorities for a small number of adjacent engineers
• Work with web-scale databases and build data pipelines capable of aggregating and processing millions of events per day
• Integrate custom-built solutions with vendor product offerings, particularly in finance business processes

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience designing and integrating internal and third-party applications
• Experience driving engineering and architecture strategies
• Programming experience in Java, Python, or C++
• Experience with cloud platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Experience with financial planning and analysis or finance engineering
• Experience working with web-scale databases and building data pipelines processing millions of events per day
• Experience integrating custom solutions with vendor products, especially finance business processes
• Experience with Google Cloud and related cloud technologies
• Experience with Anaplan and SAP
