Fullstack Developer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a talented and driven Full Stack Developer with 4-6 years of hands‑on experience to join our growing engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications across the full stack from intuitive user interfaces to robust back‑end services and APIs. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to ship high‑quality features in an agile environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design & Development: Architect and build responsive, high‑performance web applications using React, Next.js, and Node.js.
• API Development: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs; ensure proper versioning, documentation, and security.
• Database Management: Work with both relational (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB / Redis) databases schema design, query optimisation, and migrations.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code; participate in peer code reviews and enforce coding standards.
• CI/CD & DevOps: Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines; work with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Performance Optimisation: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks on both frontend and backend.
• Mentorship: Guide junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Security: Implement security best practices including authentication, authorisation (JWT / OAuth 2.0), input validation, and data encryption.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Frontend

• Proficiency in React.js (hooks, context, Redux / Zustand)
• Strong experience with Next.js (SSR, SSG, ISR, App Router)
• Solid command of TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
• Familiarity with UI libraries: Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or Chakra UI

Backend

• Proficiency in Node.js with Express.js or Fastify
• RESTful API design and GraphQL (Apollo Server / Hasura)
• Experience with authentication: JWT, OAuth 2.0, session management
• Understanding of microservices architecture and event‑driven patterns

Databases

• PostgreSQL or MySQL complex queries, indexing, transactions
• MongoDB — schema design, aggregation pipelines
• Redis — caching strategies, pub/sub

DevOps & Cloud

• Docker and Docker Compose for containerization
• CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
• Cloud familiarity: AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) or equivalent

General

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Excellent debugging and problem‑solving skills
• Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with testing frameworks: Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright
• Knowledge of WebSockets / real‑time communication (Socket.io)
• Familiarity with message brokers: RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka
• Exposure to mobile development with React Native
• Contributions to open‑source projects
• Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Vercel Edge Functions)
• Understanding of Web Accessibility (WCAG 2.1) standards
