Job Description & Responsibilities

About JcurveIQ

We're building an AI-native financial research platform — think institutional-grade intelligence for the modern investor. Agentic workflows, real-time document analysis, automated report generation, and portfolio intelligence, all powered by frontier LLMs. We're early, we're moving fast, and every line of code ships to real users.

This is not a "maintain the CRUD app" role. You'll be building interfaces that make AI agents feel intuitive, data-heavy dashboards feel effortless, and complex financial workflows feel simple.

What You'll Work On

Building and iterating on the core product: AI chat, report editor, research dashboard, and automation workflow UI

Translating complex backend intelligence (agent outputs, live document streams, financial data) into clean, responsive interfaces

Collaborating directly with the founding team — your opinions on UX and architecture will be heard and acted on

Integrating real-time data over WebSockets, handling streaming LLM responses, and building reactive state flows

Shipping fast, breaking things occasionally, and fixing them faster

Required Skills

Solid fundamentals in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — you understand why things work, not just how

Familiarity with React (hooks, component lifecycle, state management patterns)

Ability to read and reason about code you didn't write — debugging is a first-class skill here

Comfort with REST APIs: fetch, async/await, error handling, loading states

Strong problem-solving instinct — you Google well, read docs, and don't wait for someone to unblock you

Willingness to use AI coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, v0, etc.) as a force multiplier — we actively encourage this

Self-directed work ethic suited for async remote collaboration across time zones

Communication that is direct, concise, and written — walls of text don't scale in fast teams

Ability to hold ambiguity without freezing — requirements evolve, and that's a feature not a bug

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Technologies we actively use in development and deployment

Framework

React 18+, Vite

State

Redux Toolkit, Redux Thunk

Styling

Tailwind CSS

Real-time

Socket.io-client (WebSocket)

API layer

REST, streaming responses (SSE / chunked)

Infra / Deploy

Nginx, AWS S3, AWS SES, AWS App Runner

Backend awareness

Node.js / Express (helpful for API contract understanding)

AI tooling

Prompt engineering basics, LLM output handling, agentic UX patterns

Version control

Git, GitHub (PRs, branching, rebasing)

What You'll Gain

Hands-on product ownership — you'll see your features live in front of real users, not buried in a backlog

Deep exposure to AI engineering in production — agentic pipelines, multi-model orchestration (Anthropic, OpenAI, Cohere), vector search, RAG — from the frontend side where it has to actually make sense to a human

Experience in a high-demand vertical — financial research AI is a massive TAM with remarkably thin competition at the product quality level we're targeting

Early-team context — you'll understand the full stack, the business, and the decisions behind the architecture, not just a ticket description

A real portfolio project — not a tutorial app, not a clone, but a live AI product in a regulated, complex domain that you helped build from early days

Speed of learning — the compressed decision-making of an early startup means you'll accumulate more useful experience here than most engineers get in years at a larger company

Logistics

Type: Full-time

Location: Remote (flexible hours — async-first, overlap expected for syncs)

Experience: 0–3 years (strong final-year students with a portfolio also welcome)

Visa / relocation: Not applicable — fully remote

How to Apply

Send a short note (not a cover letter template) on: what you've built, what you'd want to build here, and one technical decision you've made that you're proud of — along with any portfolio, GitHub, or project links.
