Financial Modeling Engineer – Renewable Energy (US Projects)

Nuevosol Energy is looking for a Financial Modeling Engineer to support utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects in the US. The role involves developing and maintaining project finance models, performing financial analysis, and supporting investment decisions for large-scale renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and update project finance models for US utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects.
• Perform project valuation using IRR, NPV, cash flow, and return analysis.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Develop and maintain advanced Excel financial models using VBA.
• Analyze large datasets, project assumptions, financing structures, revenues, and costs.
• Ensure financial models are accurate, well-organized, and thoroughly documented.
• Work closely with US-based engineering and finance teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in financial modeling or project finance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and VBA skills.
• Experience building and maintaining project finance models with the ability to work with large datasets and complex financial assumptions.
• Strong understanding of project finance structures, DCF, IRR, NPV, cash flow analysis, and financial modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with utility-scale Solar PV or Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects.
• Knowledge of US utility-scale energy markets, project finance, tax equity, debt structures, and energy market revenues.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, or financial model automation.
