In December 2023, Thales completed the acquisition of Imperva, a leading cybersecurity company, expanding our global cybersecurity capabilities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join the Imperva India finance team. This fixed-term contract role reports to the Head of Taxation in India, with a dotted reporting line to Director of Financial Accounting, Imperva, and is a key leadership role within the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger Management

  • Manage the maintenance of accounting records for the Imperva India entity using Oracle.
  • Perform monthly closing tasks, including booking, reconciling, and clearing complex general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the books.
  • Perform the Oracle hard close procedures on WD3.
  • Oversee International entity reporting on DMT/Magnitude (group reporting tools).
  • Review financials on a quarterly and monthly basis.
  • Prepare financial statements, including schedules, in accordance with Indian GAAP.
  • Support and close statutory audits.

Treasury Management

  • Manage transaction banking, treasury returns, and limits management for fund and non-fund facilities.

AP Management

  • Validate employee expense claims in accordance with the approval matrix and provide support for approximately 120 FTEs.
  • Manage AP controlling activities.

Multi-Year Budget

  • Complete cost-by-nature and cost-by-function estimates, reviews, and finalisation.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare internal and external financial statement reporting.
  • Identify and appropriately manage risks and opportunities in balance sheet items.
  • Be involved in preparing audit timelines and supporting audits.
  • Review weekly cash forecasting for international entities.

Process Improvement

  • Propose and implement system modifications to maintain compliance with changing legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Take proactive actions to improve the accounting process, including improving the quality and consistency of balance sheet reconciliations.

Customer Invoicing

Computation of Intragroup Recharge and Invoicing

Indirect Tax, including GST Return Preparation and Filing

GST return filing: prepare, review, and file GST returns, including

  • GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B reconciliation, etc.
  • Annual Return (GSTR-9), Reconciliation Statement (GSTR-9C)

GST reconciliations

  • GSTR-1 vs Sales Register, GSTR-3B vs Books of Accounts
  • GSTR-2B vs purchase register, electronic credit ledger, and cash ledger.
  • Identify and resolve tax mismatches, monitor ITC eligibility and blocked credits, and track reversal and re-availment of ITC.

Income Tax and Transfer Pricing

Withholding tax (TDS/WHT) compliance

  • Assess WHT applicability on international transactions.
  • Review invoices and transactions to determine withholding tax applicability.
  • Assess tax withholding obligations under the Income Tax Act or Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAAs), and determine appropriate withholding tax rates based on the nature of the t
