Job Description & Responsibilities

The Finance Associate will serve as a core contributor to Azeonics' finance operations, responsible for maintaining financial discipline and operational accuracy across a fast-scaling, multi-domain manufacturing business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role sits at the intersection of day-to-day accounting operations and strategic financial reporting, ensuring that our numbers are always audit-ready, compliant, and decision-ready. This is a high-ownership position suited for a finance professional who thrives in dynamic environments and wants their work to directly support nationally significant industries.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable Indian accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end accounts payable and receivable cycles, including vendor invoice processing, client billing, reconciliations, and timely collections follow-up.
  • Monitor and manage daily cash flow positions, prepare weekly liquidity reports, and flag variances or risks to the finance manager proactively.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis on budgets versus actuals, providing written commentary and actionable insights to support business decision-making.
  • Support budget planning and rolling forecast cycles by collating data from operations, procurement, and project teams and consolidating inputs into structured financial models.
  • Ensure full compliance with GST, TDS, and other applicable direct and indirect tax obligations, including timely return filings and liaison with tax consultants where required.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls around financial processes, identifying gaps and recommending process improvements that reduce risk and improve efficiency.
  • Work within Tally or ERP systems to record transactions accurately and generate reports as required by management and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies during statutory audits, tax assessments, and compliance reviews, ensuring all documentation is well-organised and accessible.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in finance operations, cost accounting, or a general accounting role within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial services organisation.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, dynamic dashboards, and financial modelling templates.
  • Working knowledge of GST regulations, TDS compliance, and broader Indian direct and indirect tax frameworks, with demonstrated experience in return filings.
  • Practical experience with at least one ERP or accounting platform such as SAP, Tally Prime, or Oracle Financials.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform variance analysis, cash flow forecasting, and budget-versus-actual reporting with a high degree of accuracy and independent judgement.
  • Strong command of accounts payable and receivable processes, including reconciliation, ageing analysis, and working capital management.
  • Sound understanding of financial statement preparation and the ability to interpret P& L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements in a business context.
  • A bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, or finance (B. Com., BBA Finance, or equivalent) from a recognised university is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of post-qualification, full-time work experience in a finance or accounts role is required; candidates with experience in regulated or manufacturing sectors are especially encouraged to apply.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Prior exposure to cost accounting or project-based accounting in a manufacturing or defence/aerospace supply chain environment.
  • Familiarity with internal audit procedures and experience in implementing or documenting internal financial controls.
  • Experience working in a startup or growth-stage organisation where processes are being built and refined and where adaptability is valued.
  • Basic understanding of import/export documentation, customs duties, or government procurement billing, particularly relevant to defence sector vendors.
  • Exposure to financial analytics tools or BI platforms such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
