DevOps Engineer (Linux + AWS)

Position : Senior DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Experience Required: 4 to 8 Years (Solid experience in complex DevOps solutions)

Primary Mandate: End-to-End Linux Engineering & Cloud Automation

Work Location: Kolkata

Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)

Tech Stack

• Operating System : Deep Linux systems administration, troubleshooting (e.g., OOM kills, kernel thresholds, resource tracking), and native OS networking.
• Scripting & Coding : Strong Python development alongside Bash / Shell Scripting for tasks and workflow automation.
• Orchestration : Production-grade Kubernetes (K8s / AWS EKS) and Docker containerization.
• CI/CD & Automation : Building and optimizing end-to-end pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and GitOps methodologies, alongside Ansible and Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Cloud Platform : Comprehensive ecosystem knowledge of AWS (including CloudFormation and AWS Lambda). Exposure to OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is a plus.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering: Implement highly scalable, resilient, and secure application solutions in the public cloud, with a heavy focus on AWS native services and containers.
• End-to-End Linux Diagnostics: Actively analyze and troubleshoot complex system-level software and infrastructure issues. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) utilizing native Linux command-line diagnostics.
• Pipeline Integration & Automation : Maintain 100% automation coverage for core platform builds and deployments using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD pipelines. Eliminate manual deployment steps.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive automation using declarative frameworks (Terraform / CloudFormation) and configuration management toolsets (Ansible) to upgrade and scale infrastructure.
• Cost & Process Optimization: Participate in strategic engineering initiatives to streamline infrastructure footprint, improve deployment efficiencies, and actively reduce public cloud hosting costs.
• Agile Collaboration & Support: Work within a fast-paced Agile framework alongside Product Owners, Developers, and Solution Architects. Provide critical BAU (Business As Usual) support for escalated/critical environment issues.
• Client Engagement: Participate in high-level technical discussions with internal engineering teams as well as existing and potential enterprise clients. Technical & Functional Competencies
• AWS & Cloud Services: Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience provisioning and maintaining live production environments on AWS (EC2, VPC, EKS, Lambda, S3).
• Linux Mastery: Strong grasp of Linux operating system internals, shell scripting, package management, access control permissions, and system monitoring tools.
• Automation Frameworks: Proficient with Terraform, Ansible, and Docker ecosystems.
• CI/CD Mastery: Proven experience drafting declarative, environment-based build matrices specifically using GitHub Actions.
• Programming: Ability to write clean, reusable Python code to develop internal tools, scripts, or systems meant for task automation. Desired Personal Traits
