DevOps Engineer for Java and CI-CD and Kubernetes

Overview

Design, develop and improve software solutions to provide business, platform and technical capabilities for our customers and colleagues. Ensure scalable, maintainable and secure code delivered through cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of high‑quality software solutions using industry standard languages, frameworks and tools.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define requirements, devise solution strategies and ensure seamless integration.
• Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Apply secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Stay informed on industry technology trends, contribute to the organization’s technology communities.
• When applicable, lead and supervise a team, guide professional development and allocate work responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with rules, regulations and internal codes of conduct.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of DevOps principles across the full SDLC.
• Hands‑on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and source control.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes / OpenShift.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible and AWS (preferred).
• Experience with DevSecOps tooling (SonarQube, Veracode, Wiz, Prisma).
• Scripting/programming experience in Java, Python or Bash.
• Experience implementing automated CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, testing and deployment strategies.
• Strong knowledge of containerisation, Helm charts and deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling).
• Optional: experience with Kafka, Liquibase, MSSQL, observability tools (ELK, Kibana, Splunk, AppDynamics), JIRA, Harness, TADS standards, IAM, encryption, logging.
• Business acumen, strategic thinking and strong digital and technology orientation.
