Data Annotator-Legal

Role & responsibilities

• Review and analyze legal documents, contracts, court records, case law, statutes, regulations, and other legal content.
• Annotate and label legal text according to predefined guidelines and project requirements
• Identify and classify entities
• Identify relationships and relevant information within legal documents.
• Perform document classification, text categorization, and information extraction tasks.
• Review annotations for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
• Identify ambiguous or unclear cases
• Participate in quality-control and annotation-review processes.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive or confidential legal information.
• Provide feedback to improve annotation guidelines, workflows, and data quality.
• Meet established productivity, accuracy, and turnaround-time targets.
• Work with legal, data science, AI/ML, and quality-assurance teams as required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B./B.A. LL.B.), Legal Studies, or a related discipline
• Good understanding of legal terminology, concepts, and document structures.
• Strong reading and comprehension skills, particularly for complex legal documents.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle differences in legal language.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and annotation guidelines consistently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, and web-based annotation/data-labeling platforms.
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
