About the Role
The CyberDefenseIncident Responder will be part of the Information Security Group (ISG) within the Risk function, based in Mumbai, Chennai, or Bangalore. This role is responsible for investigating, analyzing, and responding to cyber incidents across the enterprise network. The responder will coordinate with internal teams and external partners to manage threats, perform forensic analysis, and ensure timely resolution of incidents. The role demands deep technical expertise, real-time response capabilities, and strong analytical skills to protect the organization’s digital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Incident Response and Investigation
- Coordinate and provide expert technical support to cyber defense teams to resolve incidents.
- Perform real-time incident handling including forensic collection, intrusion tracking, threat analysis, and system remediation.
- Conduct incident triage to determine scope, urgency, and impact, and recommend remediation actions.
- Track and document incidents from detection to resolution, ensuring structured reporting and analysis.
- Threat Analysis and Monitoring
- Analyze log files from various sources (host logs, network traffic, firewall logs, IDS logs) to identify threats.
- Receive and assess network alerts to determine root causes and potential vulnerabilities.
- Collect intrusion artifacts (e.g., malware, Trojans) and use findings to mitigate future incidents.
- Technical Reporting and Coordination
- Write and publish cyber defense techniques, guidance, and incident reports.
- Serve as a technical liaison to law enforcement and explain incident details when required.
- Coordinate with intelligence analysts to correlate threat data and enhance situational awareness.
- Monitor external sources (e.g., CERTs, vendor sites) to stay updated on threat conditions and emerging risks.
- Systems and Process Enhancement
- Correlate incident data to identify vulnerabilities and recommend system improvements.
- Coordinate incident response functions and ensure alignment with enterprise security protocols.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.
- Conduct initial forensic collection and inspection for mitigation planning.
- Apply defense-in-depth principles (e.g., layered defenses, robust security architecture).
What We Are Looking For
Education
- Graduate degree in BE, Btech.(Preferred)
- Post Graduation on ME, Mtech (Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 7yrs experience in BFSI, IT/ITES,
Skills and Attributes
- Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity tools and incident handling.
- Proficiency in log analysis, threat detection, and forensic techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to incidents in real-time.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to coordinate across teams and external agencies.
Managerial and Leadership Responsibilities
- Act as an influencer within the team and organization.
- Drive structured incident response and root cause analysis.
- Promote best practices and continuous improvement in cyber defense operations.
