Custom Wix Velo Developer

Role Description The Custom Wix Velo Developer is a Contractual for One Project on freelance basis for a month or until the project gets completed (whichever is earlier). Its an on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for building, customizing, and maintaining Wix websites using Velo (Wix’s coding platform). Project Based Day-to-day tasks include developing custom front-end and back-end functionality, integrating third-party APIs, optimizing site performance, and ensuring responsive design across devices. The developer will collaborate directly with clients to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and iterate on features based on feedback. The role also involves troubleshooting issues, maintaining clear documentation, and implementing best practices for code quality, security, and scalability. This position requires working independently, managing multiple projects, and consistently delivering polished, user-friendly web experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Wix and Velo, including building custom components, database collections, and dynamic pages.
• Solid knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for implementing custom logic and enhancing Wix site functionality.
• Experience with front-end development practices such as responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and UI/UX best practices.
• Ability to integrate and work with REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party services within Wix Velo.
• Comfort with debugging, performance optimization, and ensuring site reliability and security.
• Effective communication skills for gathering requirements, presenting solutions, and collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience delivering custom Wix or similar CMS-based web projects; portfolio or examples of work are highly beneficial.
