Job Description & Responsibilities

About Upscrape

Upscrape builds the infrastructure companies use to access public web data reliably.

We work across the full data lifecycle, including extraction, transformation, monitoring, and delivery through production-grade APIs. Our clients include enterprise and mid-market companies across industries.

We have grown primarily through client work and referrals. We are now looking to build a strong and consistent presence across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and other relevant channels.

About the role

We are looking for a creative and execution-focused Content & Growth Marketing Associate to help build Upscrape’s content, brand voice, and social media presence from the ground up.

You will work directly with the founders to understand our work, customers, industry, and point of view. You will turn technical concepts, client problems, company experiences, and rough founder ideas into content that is clear, original, and worth reading.

This is not a role limited to scheduling posts or creating generic social media graphics.

You will be expected to research, ideate, write, create, publish, experiment, and gradually develop a repeatable content and distribution system for Upscrape.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the content strategy for Upscrape and its founders
  • Generate original content ideas around web data, AI infrastructure, scraping, APIs, startups, technology, and customer problems
  • Write and edit content for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, blogs, newsletters, and other relevant channels
  • Turn founder conversations, voice notes, internal discussions, and rough ideas into polished content
  • Create content formats such as posts, threads, carousels, short-form video scripts, case studies, and campaign concepts
  • Repurpose strong ideas across multiple platforms and formats
  • Manage Upscrape’s social media accounts, content calendar, and publishing workflow
  • Create simple visual content using tools such as Canva
  • Research competitors, industry trends, relevant conversations, and content opportunities
  • Develop founder-led thought leadership content
  • Turn client work, technical insights, and company results into anonymized case studies and marketing assets
  • Support website content, landing pages, sales material, and product or company announcements
  • Monitor content performance and use the findings to improve topics, formats, hooks, and distribution
  • Engage with relevant accounts, communities, founders, and industry conversations
  • Help establish and maintain a consistent brand voice across channels
  • Experiment with new content formats and growth opportunities

What we are looking for

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • A creative mindset with the ability to generate original ideas
  • A strong understanding of how content works across platforms such as LinkedIn, X, and Instagram
  • Good editorial judgment and an understanding of what makes content interesting
  • The ability to simplify technical or complex topics without making them generic
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail
  • An interest in startups, technology, business, artificial intelligence, creators, or internet culture
  • The ability to take ownership and independently move ideas from research to publication
  • Comfort working directly with founders and converting unstructured thoughts into clear content
  • Willingness to experiment, accept feedback, and improve quickly
  • Comfort using AI tools for research and execution without producing obvious or generic AI-generated content
  • Ability to manage multiple content projects and maintain consistency

Preferred qualifications

  • 0–3 years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, social media, growth marketing, founder branding, or a related role
  • Experience writing content for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, blogs, newsletters, or websites
  • Experience managing a company, founder, creator, community, or personal social media account
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools
  • Basic knowledge of short-form video creation and editing
  • Experience creating carousels, scripts, case studies, or campaign concepts
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and content performance tracking
  • Exposure to B2B technology, SaaS, data infrastructure, artificial intelligence, APIs, or developer tools

Formal experience is useful, but the quality of your thinking and work matters more.

You may have worked at a startup, agency, creator-led business, media company, or independently as a freelancer. You may also be a strong recent graduate who has built an impressive personal page, newsletter, community, or content project.

This role may be a good fit if

  • You naturally notice interesting stories, ideas, hooks, and content angles
  • You enjoy understanding businesses and converting their work into compelling narratives
  • You can take a rough observation and develop multiple content ideas from it
  • You care about clarity, originality, and quality
  • You want ownership over building a B2B technology brand from an early stage
  • You are comfortable balancing creative thinking with consistent execution

This role may not be a good fit if

  • Your idea of social media management is limited to scheduling posts
  • You rely heavily on generic templates or AI-generated writing
  • You need every idea and task to be explained step by step
  • You prefer only creating content without managing publishing, distribution, and performance
  • You are primarily interested in influencer, lifestyle, or entertainment content and are not curious about technology or business

What you will get

  • The opportunity to build a B2B technology brand from the ground up
  • Direct access to the founders and the work happening inside the company
  • Ownership over Upscrape’s content and social media presence
  • Freedom to experiment with ideas, formats, campaigns, and distribution
  • Exposure to real client problems, technical systems, and company-building decisions
  • Access to the tools and resources required to execute effectively
  • Work that directly contributes to brand credibility, business growth, and sales
  • Responsibility and compensation that can grow with your impact
