Cloud Engineer (Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform)

Senior Cloud Engineer for FIS Global's fintech platform — design and operate production Kubernetes (EKS) on AWS with Terraform, Ansible, Python and Bash, applying SRE practices at scale. 5-10 years, hybrid across Hyderabad / Bengaluru / Pune, INR 25-45 LPA band.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and manage production Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS using Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, and create reusable Terraform modules for networking, security, storage and observability that other FIS engineering teams consume.
• Implement GitOps and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins and GitHub Actions) plus automation tooling in Python and Bash, so that microservices ship to production with automated testing, image scanning and zero-downtime rollout.
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering practices end to end: define SLOs and error budgets, instrument services with Prometheus and Grafana, run blameless post‑incident reviews, and introduce chaos‑engineering experiments on non‑production environments.
• Own infrastructure provisioning, version upgrades, scaling and cost optimisation across core AWS services — EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, ALB / NLB, KMS and Secrets Manager — with Ansible‑driven configuration management for the remaining VM‑based estate.
• Ensure security and regulatory compliance for a financial‑services workload: IAM least‑privilege, secrets management and rotation, encryption in transit and at rest, and full audit trails suitable for fintech change‑control reviews.
• Collaborate with development teams on containerised microservices and hybrid / multi‑cloud migrations (AWS primary, with Azure and GCP exposure), and mentor engineers on Terraform state management, Kubernetes security and observability best practices.

Requirements

• 5‑10 years of cloud / DevOps / SRE experience, with strong hands‑on Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and AWS at production scale.
• Terraform expert — comfortable authoring reusable modules, managing remote state per environment, and reviewing other engineers' plans for cost and security impact.
• Solid automation scripting in Python and Bash, plus working Ansible for configuration management.
• Production CI/CD ownership in Jenkins and / or GitHub Actions, including GitOps delivery patterns.
• Practical SRE mindset: SLIs / SLOs, error budgets, monitoring with Prometheus / Grafana, on‑call discipline.
• Exposure to multi‑cloud (Azure / GCP) is a plus; financial‑services or other regulated‑environment experience is valued.
• CKA / CKAD and AWS certifications are a big plus but not mandatory.
• B.Tech / B.E. / MCA or equivalent experience.
