ClickHouse Database Administrator (DBA) Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced ClickHouse Database Administrator (DBA) with 8 10 years of overall database administration experience to manage, maintain, optimize, and support large-scale ClickHouse database environments. The ideal candidate should have strong hands‑on expertise in database administration, performance tuning, high availability, replication, backup and recovery, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain ClickHouse database environments.
• Manage database provisioning, upgrades, patching, migrations, and version management.
• Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, and storage utilization.
• Perform performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and resource optimization.
• Configure and manage ClickHouse replication, clustering, distributed tables, and high‑availability environments.
• Implement and manage backup, restore, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Troubleshoot database incidents, outages, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.
• Monitor and optimize storage, CPU, memory, and overall database resource utilization.
• Implement database security, user management, access control, and compliance requirements.
• Support production, non‑production, and disaster recovery environments.
• Collaborate with Application, Infrastructure, Cloud, and DevOps teams to resolve database‑related issues.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and on‑call production support.

Essential Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience in ClickHouse Database Administration.
• Expertise in ClickHouse installation, configuration, clustering, replication, and high availability.
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience with backup, restore, disaster recovery, and database migration.
• Knowledge of database monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Experience managing large‑scale or high‑volume database environments.
• Strong understanding of database security and user access management.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Experience working with DevOps, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Application teams.
• Ability to handle production incidents and participate in on‑call support.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with distributed databases and large‑scale data platforms.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting using Bash, Python, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is an added advantage.

Required Experience

• 8 10 years of overall experience in Database Administration.
• Strong hands‑on experience specifically with ClickHouse DBA and production support.
• Experience managing mission‑critical, high‑volume, and highly available database environments.
