Job Description – Chartered Accountant

To independently manage day-to-day accounting, taxation, audit, and costing/MIS functions for AV7 SCM HO, ensuring statutory compliance, accurate financial reporting, and timely management information to support business decision-making.

Accounting & Compliance

• Manage day-to-day book-keeping and general ledger accounting in line with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS).
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of books of accounts.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset registers, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations (bank, vendor, inter-company).
• Ensure statutory compliances under Companies Act, ROC filings, and other applicable regulations.
• Liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities as required.

Taxation (Direct & Indirect)

• Handle preparation, filing, and reconciliation of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns) and ensure timely GST compliance.
• Manage TDS computation, deduction, deposit, and return filing (Form 24Q, 26Q) within statutory timelines.
• Prepare and support computation of advance tax, income tax returns, and tax audit requirements under the Income Tax Act.
• Track changes in tax laws and ensure the organisation remains compliant with updated provisions.
• Coordinate with tax consultants for assessments, notices, and litigation matters as needed.

Audit & Financial Reporting

• Coordinate and support statutory, internal, and tax audits, ensuring timely closure with minimal observations.
• Prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow) in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Ensure internal financial controls (IFC) are adequately designed and operating effectively.
• Support preparation of audit schedules, notes to accounts, and responses to audit queries.
• Assist in implementing audit recommendations and strengthening internal control processes.

Costing & MIS

• Prepare and analyse product/unit costing, including raw material, conversion, and overhead costs.
• Generate periodic MIS reports covering profitability, variance analysis, and budget vs. actual performance.
• Support budgeting and forecasting exercises in coordination with respective departments.
• Provide cost-benefit analysis and financial insights to support management decision-making.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and process efficiencies across operations.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, GST, Income Tax, and Companies Act provisions.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting software (Tally, SAP, or equivalent) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Strong analytical ability with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills to liaise with auditors, consultants, and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet statutory deadlines independently.

Qualifications & Experience

• Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
• 1 to 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in manufacturing/textile industry.
• • Exposure to direct and indirect taxation, statutory audit, and costing/MIS is preferred.
