Chartered Accountant - Canadian Accounting & IFRS

Experience: 0-2 Years (CA Fresher / CA Inter Fresher can also apply)

Job Location: Mohali (Sector 8B), India

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: We are seeking a Chartered Accountant or CA Inter candidate (including freshers) to support accounting operations for Canadian clients. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build expertise in international accounting, including Canadian GAAP and IFRS. You will assist in financial reporting, bookkeeping review, working paper preparation, and support tax and audit processes for Canadian entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in full-cycle accounting for Canadian businesses, ensuring adherence to Canadian GAAP and IFRS
  • Support review of bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and general ledger
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Prepare working papers for audits and tax filings
  • Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants for compliance requirements
  • Assist in GST/HST, payroll, and basic tax-related compliance
  • Support senior team members in resolving accounting issues
  • Communicate with internal teams and clients for data collection and clarifications
  • Stay updated on IFRS and Canadian accounting practices

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • CA (Qualified) / CA Fresher / CA Inter (IPCC/Intermediate cleared)
  • 0-2 years of experience (Articleship experience will be considered)
  • Basic understanding of IFRS (knowledge of Canadian GAAP is a plus, not mandatory)
  • Familiarity with accounting tools like QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage is an advantage
  • Good understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial statements
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work in a global environment

Good to Have (Preferred)

  • Exposure to international accounting during articleship
  • Experience working with outsourcing/KPO firms
  • Knowledge of Canadian taxation basics
