Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Backend Java Team Lead to lead a team in designing,

developing, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications. The

ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, cloud-native technologies, system design,

databases, and multi-cloud platforms (AWS & GCP), along with experience leading

engineering teams, mentoring developers, driving technical decisions, and delivering

enterprise-grade software solutions.

The role involves providing technical leadership, overseeing solution design and

implementation, promoting engineering best practices, collaborating with cross-functional

teams, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence of backend

platforms.

Key Responsibilities

 Design and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot.

 Design, develop, and optimize database solutions using SQL, Spring, and

relational/NoSQL databases, ensuring performance, security, and data integrity.

 Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS and GCP, ensuring

interoperability, high availability, resilience, and cost efficiency.

 Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform (IaC) across multi-cloud

environments.

 Collaborate with architects, engineers, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to deliver

scalable backend solutions.

 Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and operational costs.

 Ensure applications are secure, observable, and compliant with organizational

standards.

 Guide, mentor, and review the work of the engineering team.

 Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies.

 Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve system reliability and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Java

 Strong proficiency in Java (JDK 11 & 17+).

 Expertise in backend development, OOP, Effective Java, and design patterns.

Spring Framework

 Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.

 Experience building RESTful microservices.

Cloud Platforms

 Strong experience with AWS and GCP.

 Experience building cloud-native and multi-cloud applications.

Infrastructure & DevOps

 Terraform (IaC).

 CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure automation.

Architecture

 Microservices and distributed systems.

 Cross-cloud architecture.

 High availability, resiliency, performance, and cost optimization.

Engineering Practices

 Code reviews.

 Agile/Scrum.

 Observability and monitoring.

 Production troubleshooting.

 Security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

 Experience designing enterprise-scale backend systems.

 Experience working in multi-cloud environments.

 Knowledge of distributed system design patterns.

 Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.

 Familiarity with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

 Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
