PHP Laravel Backend Developer

About the Role

Blue Waves Media is looking for a skilled PHP Laravel Backend Developer to build, maintain, and optimize scalable web applications. The ideal candidate should have solid backend development experience with Laravel and MySQL, along with a good understanding of REST APIs and modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs.
• Build secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems.
• Optimize database queries and application performance.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and UI/UX designers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.
• Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and follow best coding practices.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in PHP and Laravel development.
• Strong knowledge of Core PHP, Laravel Framework, and MVC architecture.
• Experience with MySQL and database optimization.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs and third-party API integration.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap.
• Knowledge of authentication, security, and application deployment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with payment gateway integrations.
• Knowledge of Redis, queues, caching, or AWS/cloud hosting.
• Familiarity with Docker or CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
