Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Developer with 3+ years of experience in developing scalable web applications using the MERN stack. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Node.js and MongoDB, along with hands-on experience on at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). The candidate should be passionate about writing clean, efficient code and building high-performance backend services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and Express.js.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Build secure, high-performance server-side applications.
• Work with MongoDB for database design, optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with frontend developers working on React.js applications.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Implement authentication, authorisation, and security best practices.
• Optimise application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code following coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js (Mandatory).
• Experience with the MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and asynchronous programming.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB and database optimisation.
• Experience in designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform:
• AWS
• Microsoft Azure
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Good understanding of Git and version control.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Microservices architecture is preferred.
• Understanding of authentication mechanisms such as JWT and OAuth.
• Knowledge of Redis, Kafka/RabbitMQ, or caching mechanisms is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration.
• Exposure to GraphQL.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Chai).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
