Backend Developer (AI-First) 1-3 Years Experience

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Backend Developer with 1–3 years of experience who enjoys building scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of software architecture, API development, and cloud-native applications, while effectively leveraging AI to accelerate software development, testing, and automation.

In addition to backend engineering, you should have hands-on exposure to modern AI technologies, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agentic AI frameworks. You will work on building intelligent, AI-powered enterprise applications and services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Build secure, high-performance, and maintainable microservices and distributed systems.
• Participate in system design discussions and contribute to scalable software architecture.
• Develop robust backend services that integrate with AI models and LLM platforms.
• Build APIs and orchestration layers for AI agents and intelligent workflows.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar) to improve development productivity.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and API tests using AI-assisted testing techniques where appropriate.
• Optimize backend applications for scalability, reliability, performance, and cost.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and implement long-term improvements.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, AI engineers, DevOps engineers, and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and continuously improve engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong programming skills in Python is mandatory. Experience with Go, Java, Node.js, or C# is an added advantage.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Good understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and clean architecture.
• Strong understanding of scalable system architecture, distributed systems, and backend application design.
• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, and application security best practices.
• Experience using AI tools to improve coding, debugging, documentation, testing, and code reviews.

AI & LLM Knowledge (Required)

The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of modern AI technologies and should be comfortable building applications powered by Large Language Models.

• Good understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Knowledge of Agentic AI concepts, AI agents, multi-agent systems, and autonomous workflows.
• Experience using AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar.
• Familiarity with Langfuse (or equivalent observability platforms) for LLM tracing, monitoring, evaluation, and prompt management.
• Understanding of prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search.
• Working knowledge of PyTorch and deep learning fundamentals.
• Experience integrating with commercial or open-source LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Meta Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, or similar models.
• Familiarity with AI model evaluation, token optimization, and inference performance is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub.
• Knowledge of Redis or other caching technologies.
• Experience with observability tools, logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
• Exposure to AI governance, model lifecycle management, and LLMOps is an advantage.
