Back End Developer

Job Role: Backend Developer (8+ yrs exp)

Job Location: Gandhinagar, Gujarat (On Site)

Key highlights of the role

Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, API-first backend services using Node.js and TypeScript. Implement domain services and channel-specific API layers (BFFs) while preserving domain boundaries, auditability, and workflow/SLA integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Service development

Build modular domain services in Node.js/TypeScript with typed interfaces and clean architecture

Configurability

Implement configuration-driven workflows, SLAs, statuses, roles, and templates

API engineering

Develop REST APIs with pagination, filtering, sorting, versioning, OpenAPI/Swagger docs, DTO validation, and idempotency for retryable commands

Data layer

Parameterized queries and schema migrations on PostgreSQL; apply indexes; optimize queries

Caching/session

Implement Redis for caching, session, and rate limiting

Async processing

Build queue/event-bus workers; avoid synchronous dependency on external systems for core write paths

Security

Enforce server-side RBAC/ABAC and record-level access checks; encryption in transit/at rest; secrets management; secure file handling and malware scanning

Auditability

Emit audit events for critical actions; structured logging with correlation IDs

Integrations

Build integration adapters with retry, dead-letter handling, reconciliation, and external reference-ID mapping

Quality

Write maintainable unit/integration tests; participate in code reviews and security-fix remediation

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech/MCA (or equivalent)
• 5+ years backend development, primarily with open-source technologies
• Strong hands-on experience building microservices and APIs

Essential Technical Skills

Core

Node.js with TypeScript (strong typing, interfaces, generics, DTO validation)

Frameworks

Hands-on with one or more Node.js frameworks — NestJS (preferred), Express, or Fastify

Data access

PostgreSQL with an ORM/query layer (Prisma / TypeORM / Sequelize), migrations, indexing

Caching

Redis

Messaging

Message queue / event bus — BullMQ, Kafka, or RabbitMQ

Search

OpenSearch / Elasticsearch (working knowledge)

APIs

REST, OpenAPI/Swagger, versioning, idempotency, rate limiting

Validation

Schema/DTO validation (e.g., class-validator, Zod, Joi)

Security

OWASP secure coding, authN/authZ (JWT/OAuth2), encryption practices

Testing

Jest (or equivalent) for unit/integration testing

Storage

Object storage for documents; secure upload patterns

Preferred / Value-Add

• Containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
• PostGIS / lat-long geo-location handling
• Multilingual (Unicode/UTF-8) data handling
• Awareness of data-privacy regulations and government/enterprise security advisories
