Job Description & Responsibilities

Job Title: Assistant Human Resource Manager Department: Human Resources Location: The Elite Lucknow Convention Hotel Job Purpose The Assistant HR Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of HR functions — recruitment, payroll, employee engagement, grievance handling, and compliance — ensuring smooth people operations across all departments. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding Manage end-to-end recruitment: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring for all departments. Coordinate with HODs to understand manpower requirements and fill vacancies in a timely manner. Conduct induction and onboarding for new joiners. Payroll & Compliance Maintain and process monthly payroll, attendance, and leave records accurately. Ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, labour laws, etc.) and maintain related documentation. Maintain employee personal files and HR records/database. Employee Engagement Plan and conduct regular townhalls and engagement activities to keep staff informed and motivated. Drive initiatives that improve morale, retention, and workplace culture. Support recognition programs and celebrations for staff milestones. Grievance & Discipline Handle staff disputes, grievances, and conflicts fairly and confidentially. Support HODs in disciplinary matters, ensuring processes follow policy and labour law. Act as a neutral point of contact for employee concerns. General HR Operations Draft and update HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbook as needed. Coordinate performance appraisal processes across departments. Support training and development initiatives in coordination with HODs. Handle exit formalities, full & final settlements, and exit interviews. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's/Master's degree in HR or related field. 3–6 years of HR experience, preferably in hospitality or a similar service industry. Experience independently handling full HR operations for a mid-sized team is preferred. Key Skills Strong knowledge of recruitment, payroll, and labour compliance Good interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently Confidentiality and sound judgment in handling sensitive matters Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging staff at all levels
