Role Description The Article Assistant will support the firm’s chartered accountants with day-to-day professional work, including bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements, tax computations, and working papers. Responsibilities include assisting in statutory and tax audits, supporting GST and income tax return filings, and helping with documentation and compliance for various regulatory requirements. The role involves collecting and organizing client data, preparing schedules and reconciliations, and maintaining accurate records and files. The Article Assistant is expected to participate in client meetings as needed, follow firm procedures, and adhere to professional and ethical standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Guwahati.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment as an Article Assistant under the ICAI scheme or eligibility to register as an articled trainee.
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, auditing procedures, taxation (including GST and income tax), and basic financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and basic accounting software; familiarity with Tally or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical ability, numerical accuracy, and attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and compliance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, professional behavior with clients, and ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to changing assignments, manage deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Prior internship or practical exposure in an accounting or audit environment is a plus, but not mandatory.
