Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accountant to take complete ownership of our daily financial operations, tax compliance, and inventory accounting. In this role, you will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, reconcile high-volume retail transactions, handle GST/TDS filings, and closely monitor receivables from our contractor/builder networks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the retail, wholesale, or distribution sectors and a sharp eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)

• Daily Bookkeeping: Accurately record all daily showroom transactions, purchase vouchers, sales invoices, and expense entries into ERP.
• Cash & Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile daily cash collections, credit/debit card swipes, and UPI payments across multiple showroom billing counters against bank statements.
• Statutory Tax Compliance: Prepare, verify, and execute monthly/quarterly tax filings including GST (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B), TDS returns, and E-Way bill generation for inter-district material transit.
• Receivables & Payables Management: Monitor outstanding payments from builders, designers, and commercial clients. Generate aging reports and coordinate with the sales team to ensure timely collections.
• Vendor Reconciliation: Reconcile ledger accounts with major manufacturing partners and distributors to verify stock purchases, discounts, and credit notes.
• Inventory Auditing: Partner with warehouse and store managers to conduct periodic physical stock verifications, matching system inventory in ERP with actual yard stock to flag variances.
• Financial Reporting: Assist management with the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss statements, cash flow statements, and data preparation for year-end auditing.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Taxation Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of Indian GST laws, E-Way billing systems, and TDS mechanisms.
• Software Mastery: Strong command over MS Excel for data extraction and reporting. Experience working with ERPs.
• Attention to Detail: Absolute accuracy in matching delivery chalans, purchase orders, and tax invoices.
• Communication & Ethics: High personal integrity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to professionally follow up with local clients/vendors in Malayalam and English.

Work Experience & Education Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Master’s degree (M.Com). Professional qualifications like Inter-CA/Inter-CMA are a welcome advantage but not mandatory.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of core accounting experience. Freshers with excellent credentials will also be considered.
• Direct experience working within a multi-brand retail showroom, building materials trading, hardware wholesale, or consumer goods distribution business is highly preferred.
• Local Factor: Must be a resident of Trivandrum.
