Position Title: Accountant
Location: Kichha, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand
Organization: Institute of Social Development (ISD)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: 20,000 - 25,000 per month (Based on qualification and experience)
Reporting To: Director/Finance Manager
About ISD
The Institute of Social Development (ISD) is a non-profit organization working in the areas of child protection, health, education, livelihood, women empowerment, anti-human trafficking, and community development in Uttarakhand.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain day-to-day accounting records and books of accounts.
Prepare cash book, bank book, ledger, vouchers, and journal entries.
Manage accounts payable and receivable.
Process payments, staff reimbursements, and vendor payments.
Conduct monthly bank reconciliation and petty cash verification.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MIS reports.
Maintain project-wise and donor-wise financial records and budgets.
Assist in preparation of utilization certificates (UCs) and donor financial reports.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including TDS, GST, EPF, ESI, and Income Tax.
Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support audit processes.
Monitor project budgets and expenditure against approved budgets.
Support procurement and financial documentation for various projects.
Ensure compliance with donor guidelines and organizational financial policies.
Perform any other finance and administrative tasks assigned by management.
These responsibilities reflect common NGO accounting practices and donor compliance requirements.
Qualification & Experience
B.Com/M.Com/MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the NGO/development sector.
Knowledge of NGO accounting, donor reporting, and statutory compliance.
Experience in handling government and donor-funded projects will be preferred.
Proficiency in Tally Prime, MS Excel, and MS Office.
Knowledge of FCRA accounting and compliance will be an added advantage.
