Accountant - Australian process

Company Description

Our client is a Solutions Provider organization based in Mumbai offering solutions in the field of IT, Accounting, Business Administration etc. This position is with their Australian Client that offers accounting and financial services.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote contractual International Accountant position. This role requires strong knowledge of Australian accounting and bookkeeping practices, along with hands on experience in MYOB and QuickBooks.

Key responsibilities

∙ Manage day to day bookkeeping across multiple entities

∙ Process accounts payable and receivable

∙ Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards

∙ Prepare and process payroll, including superannuation obligations

∙ Assist with BAS preparation and lodgement in line with ATO requirements

∙ Maintain accurate financial records in MYOB and QuickBooks

∙ Support month end and year end reporting processes

∙ Liaise with Australian based accountants and auditors as needed

∙ Ensure compliance with Australian tax law, including GST, PAYG, and superannuation guarantee requirements

∙ Assist with budgeting and cash flow reporting

Essential skills and experience

∙ Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting for Australian businesses

∙ Strong working knowledge of MYOB and QuickBooks

∙ Solid understanding of Australian tax law, including GST, PAYG, and superannuation (super guarantee, SG rates, and reporting obligations)

∙ Experience with BAS preparation

∙ High attention to detail and accuracy

∙ Strong communication skills in English, written and verbal

∙ Ability to work independently and meet deadlines across time zones

Desirable

∙ Certificate IV or higher in Accounting/Bookkeeping, or equivalent qualification

∙ Experience working with not for profit or RTO (registered training organisation) entities

∙ Familiarity with Xero (in addition to MYOB and QuickBooks)
