Job Description

Role Overview:

The Quality Head / DGM Quality will lead the quality assurance and control processes within the Gear Division, overseeing the entire production cycle from forging to final dispatch. This role involves managing quality procedures, supervising the metrology lab team, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, process improvement, and continuous quality enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procedures to inspect and report quality issues across all operations.
  • Monitor all processes and operations that impact product quality.
  • Utilize machining process knowledge for gear manufacturing, from forging to final dispatch.
  • Supervise and guide a team of inspectors, technicians, and other staff to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Lead the Metrology Lab team in the use of CMM, gear testers, and other quality equipment.
  • Make timely, proactive decisions related to quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure adherence to QAQC processes and control measures across the organization.
  • Maintain PPM benchmarks and ensure quality consistency across the production line.
  • Provide prompt and effective solutions to customer complaints and inquiries.
  • Conduct vendor and supplier audits to maintain the highest standards of quality.
  • Assist the NPD (New Product Development) team in timely checking and dispatch of development parts.
  • Ensure the reliability and consistency of production by monitoring in-processes and final output.
  • Regularly assess customer requirements and ensure satisfaction through the quality of deliverables.
  • Report any malfunctions or defects to the production team for immediate corrective actions.
  • Collect and analyze quality data to facilitate proactive solutions and continuous improvements.
  • Review and update current quality standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality reports, statistical analyses, and related documentation.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate with external quality assurance officers during on-site inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. Tech/B.E.) in Automobile, Production/Industrial, Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 17 to 25 years of experience in quality management, preferably in gear manufacturing or related industries.
